Get Dead Sexy Hotel Deals on DealBase

The current economic downturn has provided another incentive for travelers to seek out the best deals to travel efficiently and save money. At the same time, there seems to be a new travel site launching every day of the week, and it’s tough to separate the wheat from the chafe. I feel strongly the sites that solve real-world problems will be the ones to survive this market and come out the real winners. That’s why I’d like to introduce the beta launch of Dealbase, a site that aggregates hotel deals from all over the web, including email newsletters. hotel offers, rewards programs, and online travel agencies. As of today, they are aggregating 12,176 deals from places all over the world! I was checking out the site for snowboard trips this winter and found some fantastic deals for places like Jackson Hole Wyoming, Beaver Creek Colorado, or Lake Tahoe California.

One of the best parts about the site is how easy it is to see how much money you’re actually saving on each deal. The Deal Analyzer gives you a snapshot of the regular room rates plus the value of any extra perks (such as meals, activities, etc.) and how it compares with your deal price. Savings are usually pretty impressive (oftentimes in the $250/night range) and you can book directly from the site.

Sam Shank is the CEO of DealBase, and he also founded TravelPost, which is the second largest hotel site on the web aside from the behemoth, TripAdvisor. TravelPost was acquired by Sidestep and is now part of Kayak. Sam clearly understands the hotel space and I’m glad he’s using his expertise to build us a tool for getting great hotel deals on DealBase. Check it out next time you’re in need of a vacation. Like now, right?
