Houston Resident Wins 21 Million Continental Miles

In celebration of the 21st birthday of Continental’s OnePass frequent flyer program, they awarded 21 million miles to one lucky frequent flyer.

Bill Shiver, a Houston resident (and apparently and exceptional poker player), took home the grand prize after winning the Texas Hold’em Poker Tourney at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Vegas.

So what does 21 million Continental miles buy good ‘ol Bill? This prize could be redeemed for up to 200 business class roundtrip tickets from Bill’s hometown in Houston to Europe, or up to 400 economy tickets anywhere in the U.S. He could also use them for a variety of vacation packages, cruises, alliance partners (fly with Delta or Air France, for example) or events and performances.

Bill plans to use his points to take a Mediterranean cruise, a trip to Italy with his buds, and a football tour with his alma mater, Texas A&M. Bill, you’re just getting started….

For those of us who aren’t lucky enough to be a friend of Bill’s, Continental is also offering 21,000 OnePass bonus miles for new members of their World Mastercard program during their bday celebration (offer valid until October 31, 2008). OnePass members will also get 2,100 bonus miles for booking a business or first class ticket on Continental with their MasterCard.
