Stand Up For Your Frequent Flyer Rights!
Randy Petersen, a longtime frequent flyer expert and founder of the popular frequent flyer forum, FlyerTalk, has started a grassroots campaign for frequent flyer rights, specifically in response to U.S. Airways recent changes to their Dividend Miles frequent flyer program.
Go to www.savedividendmiles.com to get involved in the movement. It calls for travelers to sign a petition that demands changes from US Airways. Visitors can help spread the word by printing out boarding cards to hand out to their frequent flyer co-workers and friends.
This site clearly addresses one specific change to a specific miles program, namely, US Airway’s decision to eliminate elite bonuses for Preferred Dividend Miles. That being said, there is a good chance that its effectiveness will demonstrate to all the other airlines that WE AREN’T GONNA TAKE IT! For the past couple of months airlines have been relentlessly changing rules, adding fees for booking reward tickets, eliminating bonus packages, and hiking the amount of miles needed for travel. In essence, they are alienating their best customers! It doesn’t make sense and frequent flyers have the leverage to do something about it. Heck, we’re the ones that are buying all their tickets! So stand up for your rights today and sign the petition before the new rules are instated on August 6th, 2008.
